Catching Up

Another day, another blog before the end of the year 2012. I received a call this afternoon from an old friend, a very dear friend of mine.. Albert. Well when hubby and I decided to give ourselves some space and time I felt I needed a friend during my difficult time. So I sent him a message through FB and told him about my situation, what happened to me in the hospital.

He called me up earlier today and went to our place, talked to my mom and my sisters, after not seeing each other for 5 years i'm not surprised that my mom still remembers him. Well we talked about everything that happened during the last 5 years, his life, my life.

He's now in a serious relationship, hahaha. Last time we talk he said he had no plans or not even interested to be in a commitment and I was his exact opposite but I guess people change. Well i'm happy for him.

I told him about my sentiments about looking for friends, he gave me a piece of advise about not needing to look for more friends but keeping the real ones that I have.  Well he's totally right about that notion but how about for a person like me? I reminded him about my situation, that unlike him I have no friends, I mean he's my friend but I want to meet new friends, I think i'm old enough to know right and wrong and I think I am old enough to make my own decisions.

Then I realized that he's been like a brother to me.. I think he knows me inside and out that we can both be ourselves whenever we see each other. I guess i'm lucky that despite of not having many friends I have 1 person that I can call my friend. By the way that doesn't change my decision of wanting to have new friends. 

*I will include him in my Gratitude list this 2012. I'm Thankful that we have set aside whatever happened in the past and catch up with my friend-brother Bert. Looking forward for more stories and catching up with him this coming 2013.  :)
